VenaPro (portable sequential compression device)

Helps prevent postoperative DVT/blood clotting.

Instructions for using device:

  • Start using it right away for up to 30 days after surgery.
  • The device will blink green when it is charging and will be solid green light when fully charged.
  • Hold the power button down for approximately 1 second to turn off and on.
  • Walk around as much as possible and wear cuffs anytime you are in bed or sitting for 2 hours or more during the day.

Pro E-Stim (portable neuromuscular stimulator – NMES)

Re-educates the muscle, fights disuse atrophy, and is great for pain management.

Instructions for using device:

  • Wear in the middle of the quad/thigh about 8 inches away from the incision

  • Product has two modes: Use in mode EMS, modes are chosen by pressing the power button on the unit

  • Use + and - buttons to adjust the intensity to your comfort level.

  • The product will turn off automatically after 20 minutes

  • It is rechargeable with a USB port

  • Use once a day – can be used up to a year to treat pain and muscle re-education

  • Call (480) 489-3414 to order new electrodes (sticky pads) or when you are done with NMES

Manamed Hip Wrap (cold/compression wrap)

A comfortable alternative to ice. Wear when you feel a spike in pain or swelling.

Instructions for using device:

  • Place the blue cold packs in the freezer to chill before use. While one pack is being worn in the brace, the second can be kept in the freezer – alternating as needed.

  • The MANAMED logo will be upright

  • Disregard #2 on instructions of use. No need to add the hip hinge or ask a doctor for settings. Keep the hinge in case needed later.

  • Make sure the cold wrap is never worn directly against the skin, wear pants or place a towel between skin and wrap.

  • Once the wrap is on, the compression component can also be used

  • Don't wear any longer than 30 to 40 minutes at a time, taking an hour off in between each use

  • Do not wear within an hour prior of physical therapy
